Job description

Automatic Systems, Inc. is a medium-sized business headquartered in Kansas City, MO. We are a leading provider of material handling systems. Innovation and experience are keys to our success.

ASI is looking for an Inventory Control Specialist who will be responsible for accuracy of all inventory levels for all job specific inventory and stock.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Receive and organize job specific inventory items in centralized locations by project.
  2. Responsible for accuracy of all raw material inventory and monitoring of replenishment.
  3. Check out all inventory items by project or job order and deliver to manufacturing personnel as needed; no inventory is removed from inventory areas without approval.
  4. Proficient in NetSuite inventory and receiving transactions.
  5. Organize storage of all stock items; proper labeling required.
  6. Keep all inventory stock areas clean, organized, and properly labeled.
  7. Perform cycle counting as directed by the Purchasing Department.
  8. Collaborate with Purchasing Department on setting stock levels.
  9. Demonstrate the ability to work professionally as a team player and willingness to assist others.
  10. Regular and predictable attendance.
  11. May require working extended hours, weekends and/or holidays.
  12. Cross-trained to understand all responsibilities for Shipping and Receiving position.
  13. Responsible for maintenance, accuracy, and organization of obsolete inventory.
  14. Improve and further document inventory control processes.
  15. Proficient in the vendor return process; instructs affected personnel on disposition of defective products.
  16. Trains other shipping and receiving departmental employees on cycle counting and inventory control processes.
  17. Perform other duties and projects as assigned or that become necessary to fulfill the company’s responsibilities and needs with respect to its business.
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma required.
  2. Consistent attendance, reliable, accurate, and a detailed mindset.
  3. Good communication skills for dealing with employees at various levels of management including Field Superintendents and Manufacturing Managers.
  4. Must be capable of working independently.
Physical Requirements:
  • Mobility Requirements: Sit 5%; Stand 45%; Walk 50%.
  • Climbing Requirements: Ladder 10%; Incline 30%; Stairs 10%.
  • Weight Lifting Requirements: 100# waist high; 150# with someone else; weight must be carried distance of 20′ feet.
  • Physical Dexterity: Hand tools 45%; Electric tools 50%; Manipulate small objects 5%.
  • Essential abilities required for the job are: see, listen/hear, touch and speak.
