Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company is seeking an inventory clerk to compile and maintain records of stocked materials and supplies. You will count stock, post totals, and verify calculations against records, while reporting discrepancies and safety issues to a supervisor. Regular attendance is required in a role with varied shifts.

Starting compensation is $21 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential for second shift. Be prepared for overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts and work in temperature-controlled

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be flexible and able to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in temperature-controlled zones from -5 F to ambient.
• Ability to observe surroundings, packages, and labels at close and far distances.

Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain records of quantity, type, and value of stocked materials, equipment, merchandise, or supplies.
• Report accidents, injuries, malfunctions, safety issues immediately.
• Count stock and post totals to inventory records.
• Compare inventories to office records and compute current inventory.
• Verify clerical computations against physical counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
• Prepare lists of depleted items and recommend survey of defective items.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Summary:

This position is responsible for compiling and maintaining records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment.

• Reporting any accidents, injuries, malfunctions on equipment, and safety issues and/or unsafe practices immediately to a Supervisor.
• Counting material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
• Comparing inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
• Verifying clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
• Compiling information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.
• Preparing reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
• Preparing list of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items.
• Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work in various temperature-controlled zones ranging from -5 F to ambient temperature
• ability to observe surroundings, packages, and labels at both close and far distances
