Job summary

STARC Systems is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to maintain accurate records, run cycle counts across 1,500+ SKUs, and ensure material availability in collaboration with supply chain, production, and warehouse teams.

You will handle ERP entries, assist with annual audits, implement 5S and lean practices in the warehouse, and help minimize discrepancies while supporting production scheduling.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems with strong data entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cycle counts for 1,500+ SKUs and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
  • Maintain inventory records in ERP in real time (receipts, transfers, adjustments, withdrawals).
  • Assist in annual physical inventory audits and related tasks.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse areas using 5S principles.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack as needed.
  • Coordinate with receiving to verify incoming materials against POs.

Job description

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist maintains accurate inventory records and executes cycle counting programs to support production continuity and operational efficiency. This role partners with supply chain, production, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability and inventory integrity across all storage locations, managing a catalog of 1,500+ active SKUs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Cycle Counting & Inventory Accuracy:



  • Plan and execute cycle count programs covering 1,500+ SKUs, ensuring inventory accuracy and timely reconciliation of all discrepancies.

  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system by processing receipts, transfers, adjustments, and withdrawals in real time.

  • Assist in annual physical inventory audits and all related preparation activities.

  • Includes other duties as assigned that are relevant to the role and in support of company needs.


Warehouse Operations & Material Handling:



  • Organize and maintain warehouse and storage areas using 5S principles, ensuring proper labeling, location assignments, and accessibility.

  • Operate forklift and pallet jack to move, stage, and locate materials as needed.

  • Coordinate with the receiving team to verify incoming materials against purchase orders and update inventory accordingly.

  • Develop and document inventory control procedures and best practices.


Cross-Functional Support:



  • Monitor slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory and generate reports to support disposition decisions.

  • Support production scheduling by communicating material shortages, overages, and availability status.

  • Collaborate with supply chain and purchasing teams to improve procurement accuracy and reduce inventory discrepancies.

  • Supports and models STARC Systems values and mission.


Requirements

Education and Experience


  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems with strong data entry accuracy and computer skills.

  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

  • Familiarity with 5S and lean inventory practices preferred.

Schedule and Compensation

The schedule for this position is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM


The pay range for this position is $25.00 to $28.00 per hour


Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at STARC Systems.
