Dollar General Corporation seeks an Inventory Control Manager to oversee inventory control, flow, and accuracy at the distribution center. You will publish reports, analyze data, monitor cycle counting, and ensure timely movement of goods with strict data integrity and SKU management.

Responsibilities include coordinating imports processes, customs compliance, and annual reconciliation events, with a focus on maintaining accurate inventory and efficient operations across DCs.

Formación

• Two years experience in inventory control systems.
• Thorough knowledge of distribution center operations preferred.
• Through knowledge of customs regulations preferred.

• Publishes reports, analyzes data, tracks performance by area and determines root causes.
• Coordinates cycle counting and estimated statistical sampling.
• Maintains system data integrity.
• Ensures date-sensitive products are checked for expiration and quantities are correct.
• Sets up/changes SKU in strategic pick location.
• Ensures cycle counts are scheduled and completed timely and accurately.
• Leads inventory reconciliation processes (Mid-Year and Year End).
• Monitors and maintains documentation for Return to Vendor products.
• Develops budget and monitors expenses.
• Monitors processes for Customs and SOP compliances.
• Monitors transfer processes to resolve variances.
• Ensures destruction of merchandise is secured and inventoried for accuracy and Customs compliance.
• Monitors trailer pool and timely unloading of containers to eliminate detention charges.
• Delivers imports items to all distribution centers.

Job Description

The Inventory Control Manager manages and administers the overall inventory control, inventory flow, and inventory accuracy processes for the distribution center. Responsible for the analysis and publication of inventory reports in addition to measuring and monitoring the cycle counting program.

Job Responsibility

Inventory Control

• Maintains/exceeds all inventory accuracy goals.
• Publishes reports, analyzes data, tracks performance by area, and determines problems and root causes; communicates results and recommends appropriate action.
• Coordinates all functions of the statistical-based cycle counting and estimated statistical sampling.
• Maintains system data integrity.
• Ensures that date-sensitive products are checked for expiration, quantities are correct, and exceptions are handled for timely movement of goods.
• Sets up and/or changes the stock keeping unit (SKU) in the strategic pick location.
• Ensures all cycle counts are scheduled, and counting is completed timely, accurately, and in compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Performs process or system testing as required to ensure accurate adjustments and program measurement.
• Leads Mid-Year and Year End Inventory reconciliation processes
• Monitors and maintains proper documentation for “Return to Vendor” product.

Imports

• Develops budget and monitor expenses.
• Analyzes data to determine trends and staffing requirements.
• Monitors processes for Customs and S.O.P compliances.
• Monitors transfer process to ensure variances are resolved.
• Ensures that vendor Non-Compliance issues are reported to the Import Group with supporting documentation.
• Ensures the destruction of merchandise is secured an inventoried for accuracy and Customs compliance.
• Monitors and maintains adequate trailer pool.
• Ensures that containers are unloaded in a timely manner to eliminate detention charges.
• Ensures timely delivery of imports items to all DC’s.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to physically move throughout the distribution center to monitor the flow of merchandise.

Education/Experience

• Two years’ experience in inventory control systems.
• Thorough knowledge of distribution center operations preferred
• Through knowledge of customs regulations preferred.
