Job summary

NRG Energy seeks an Inventory Control Specialist to optimize field inventory, drive cost savings, and support the Operations team across multiple sites. You will work with field technicians and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

This role involves 5–35% travel, in-person collaboration with Field Operations, and using Excel to track metrics while adhering to sourcing policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, inventory planning or management.
• Strong critical thinking and independent problem solving.
• Autonomous, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Preferred degree in supply chain, analytics, or logistics; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track field inventory, ensuring accuracy across locations.
• Collaborate with Field Operations to support cost savings and policy adherence.
• Resolve failed inventory transactions and document root causes.
• Provide training and coaching on inventory processes and SOP adherence.
• Develop reports on high-impact metrics for leadership review.
• Support audits and improve processes to reduce losses and discrepancies.
