Job summary

Stitch Fix, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Control Group Leader to own inventory accuracy, integrity, and availability within the fulfillment center.

You will be the site expert, partnering with Finance, Merchandising, Systems, and HQ Inventory Control to improve health, reduce shrink, and strengthen processes. You will lead a team of inventory control associates, drive KPI-based performance, and utilize WMS, Excel, Looker, and AI-enabled tools to optimize operations and support SOX compliance

Qualifications

• 5+ years in inventory control, management, or fulfillment operations with team leadership.
• Experience with reconciliation, cycle counting, audits, and SOX compliance.
• Strong analytical skills with Excel, Looker, WMS, and inventory reporting tools.
• Able to identify root causes and drive process improvements.
• Familiarity with AI tools or technologies that support analysis and reporting.

About the Role

At Stitch Fix, our Fulfillment Center teams power a personalized styling experience that helps clients feel confident and seen. As an Inventory Control Group Leader, you will own inventory accuracy, integrity, and availability within the fulfillment center, ensuring product is available for styling and shipment while protecting financial accuracy.

This role serves as the site expert for inventory control, partnering with Warehouse Operations, Finance, Merchandising, Systems, and HQ Inventory Control to improve inventory health, reduce shrink, and strengthen inventory processes. Your work directly impacts inventory availability, operational efficiency, and financial performance across the fulfillment center.

Responsibilities

• Lead inventory control activities, including cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and inventory audits
• Manage a team of direct reports (inventory control associates) within the building.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes of shrink, and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to support inventory governance, SOX compliance, and audit requirements
• Analyze inventory data, monitor key performance indicators, and identify opportunities to improve inventory health and accuracy
• Collaborate with warehouse and cross-functional partners to create and improve processes related to inventory oversight, support reverse logistics activities, and maintain inventory availability

How Tools and Technology Show Up in Your Day-to-Day Work

• Use warehouse management systems, inventory visibility tools, and reporting platforms to monitor inventory performance and support decision-making
• Analyze inventory and operational data using tools such as Excel, Looker, and other reporting systems
• Use AI-enabled tools and technology for analysis, reporting, communication, and problem-solving related to inventory accuracy and general operational efficiency for the site/network.
• Learn and apply new tools, systems, and technologies that improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency

About You

Requirements

• 5+ years of inventory control, inventory management, or fulfillment center/distribution center/warehouse operations experience, including experience leading teams and driving operational performance through KPIs related to inventory and throughput.
• Experience with inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, inventory audits, and SOX compliance
• Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel, Looker, warehouse management systems (WMS), and other inventory reporting tools
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to identify root causes and drive process improvements
• Familiarity with AI tools, systems, or technologies that support analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including standing, walking, conducting physical inventory audits, and lifting or moving materials up to 50 lbs. as needed
• Ability to use computers, handheld devices, scanners, and inventory systems for extended periods of time

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience reducing inventory shrink or improving inventory accuracy in a fulfillment, retail, or distribution environment
• Experience developing KPI reporting, dashboards, or inventory performance metrics
• Exposure to Lean, continuous improvement, or root cause analysis methodologies
• Experience supporting reverse logistics, liquidation, or inventory disposition processes

Compensation and Benefits

This role will receive a competitive salary and benefits. The salary for US-based employees hired into this role will be aligned with the range below, which includes our three geographic areas. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, location, and performance. In addition, the position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
