Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor to direct and coordinate inventory control activities, stocking requirements, and purchasing needs for parts and supplies. You will partner with body shop and service departments to ensure timely availability and optimize turnover.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience, basic accounting knowledge, and a valid driver's license. You will lead centralized purchasing and implement guidelines to maximize accuracy and security of

Responsibilities

• Set and obtain parts purchasing decisions in concert with company objectives.
• Forecast parts purchases and work toward attainment.
• Coordinate with body shop and service managers for timely parts availability.
• Develop and monitor guidelines for customer interactions to ensure satisfaction.
• Establish inventory controls and balance turnover.
• Establish policies to maximize inventory security and minimize loss.
• Centralize purchasing, stocking and utilization objectives.
• Analyze market conditions for parts availability and report findings.

The Inventory Control Supervisor directs and coordinates activities of inventory control, stocking requirements, bulk purchase needs and overall stocking parameters. Engages in purchasing and distributing parts and supplies in organization.

Responsibilities:

• Set and obtain parts purchasing decisions in concert with overall company objectives.


• Forecast parts purchases goals and objectives and works towards attaining them.


• Liaise with the body shop and service department managers to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for respective jobs.


• Develop, enforce and monitor guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.


• Establish inventory controls, levels and balances them for maximum turnover.


• Establish policies and procedures to maximize inventory security and minimize loss.


• Centralize purchasing, stocking and utilization objectives and procedures.


• Work with parts managers to analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future parts availability and prepares market analysis reports.


• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).


• Two or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• General accounting knowledge and inventory management skills well rounded knowledge of dealership computer systems and programs.


• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.
