Job summary

Emerson is seeking an inventory-focused role to manage locations, counts, and transfers on the shop floor. You will audit inventory in both physical space and the JDE system, while supporting cross-department communication and process improvements.

Responsibilities include cycle counts, data accuracy, and safety compliance; you will work with various teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain orderly inventories. This is a hands-on, on-site role in a manufacturing/distribution setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or demonstrated ability to read, write and perform basic math.
  • 1 year experience in manufacturing or distribution center.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 lbs.

  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, including negative on-hand inventory, and report findings
  • Conduct aisle audits, make corrections, and report results.
  • Transfer material to and from other locations physically and in JDE
  • Recommend and train on improvements to inventory transfer process
  • Communicate with a variety of departments, internally and externally
  • Escalate inventory and quality issues as needed.
  • Put away extra parts.
  • Help prepare, count, and reconcile physical inventory.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
  • Other duties as assigned
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level
  • 1 year experience working in manufacturing or distribution center
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.
  • Proficient in creating Excel spreadsheets and writing Word documents
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 70lbs
  • Ability to do other duties as assigned
  • Ability to carry objects; perform dynamic activities including reaching and stretching; and frequent bending and twisting of the torso
  • Ability to pass forklift certification physical, written exam, and driving demonstration
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Associates Degree in any field
  • 1 year experience in inventory-related role
  • Proficient with ERP software, JDE
  • Prior forklift certification
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Typical shop floor with possible exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, heat, cold, noise, vibration, oil and water. May be exposed to any number of these elements.
