Are you an experienced Inventory Control Clerk with a background in manufacturing, inventory management, MRP, cycle counting, receiving, and material control? We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control professional to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Northwest Houston.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who can maintain accurate inventory records, support production operations, investigate inventory discrepancies, and help ensure the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility.
Maintain accurate manual and computerized inventory records.
Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
Maintain accurate perpetual inventory and inventory location records.
Review and interpret MRP output to support the issuance of manufacturing work orders and purchase requisitions.
Track and coordinate the movement of materials, parts, supplies, and assemblies between departments.
Support inventory activities related to ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials.
Perform inventory-related data entry and maintain timely and accurate inventory statistics.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and communicate issues to appropriate team members.
Recommend solutions and improvements to inventory control processes.
Monitor inventory levels and provide management with information regarding inventory trends, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Maintain awareness of warehouse and stocking locations, capacities, and layouts and recommend improvements to space utilization and material flow.
Verify stock numbers, nomenclature, authorized substitutes, bills of materials, parts lists, requisitions, and shipping orders for accuracy.
Inspect inventory and report damaged materials or products to the appropriate supervisor.
Ensure established inventory control procedures are followed for receiving, shipping, material movement, and inventory accountability.
Provide strong internal customer service and support to the production department.
Work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED required.
Approximately 1 year of related inventory control, warehouse, materials, or manufacturing experience preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is strongly preferred.
Experience with MRP, inventory systems, cycle counting, perpetual inventory, work orders, purchase requisitions, receiving, and shipping is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to identify inventory issues and recommend practical solutions.
Comfortable performing inventory data entry and maintaining accurate records.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to read and understand work instructions, correspondence, parts lists, and other job-related documentation.
Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the workday.
Frequent use of hands and arms to handle materials and equipment.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or balance as needed.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
This position works in a manufacturing environment and may involve occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and varying temperatures. Noise levels are generally moderate.
