Job summary

Herff Jones in Arcola, IL is seeking an Inventory Control Clerk to verify quantities against work orders, process inventory documentation, and inspect materials for quality and proper labeling. The role supports shipping and cycle counts in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will maintain accurate inventory records, coordinate movements between production, warehouse, and shipping, and work with Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems. High school diploma required, starting pay $19 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, material control, purchasing, or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Oracle, or other ERP/Warehouse Management Systems is a plus.
• Ability to accurately enter, track, and maintain inventory data.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify inventory quantities against work orders and system records to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare, process, and distribute production and inventory-related documentation to the appropriate departments.
• Inspect materials and finished goods for quality, accuracy, proper labeling, and compliance with company standards.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, shortages, and incorrect production issues; coordinate corrective actions and inventory adjustments as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by processing transactions and updates in the inventory management system.
• Package materials and finished products according to customer specifications and company requirements.
• Coordinate the movement of materials and finished goods between production, warehouse, and shipping departments.
• Support shipping operations by ensuring orders are complete, accurate, and delivered on time.
• Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits.
• Perform additional inventory control and warehouse duties as assigned.

What You’ll Be Doing On A Daily Basis

What You’ll Bring To The Table

• 2 to 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, material control, purchasing, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Oracle, or other ERP/Warehouse Management Systems is a plus.

• Basic math and analytical skills for inventory reconciliation and reporting.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Education / Certifications Required

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements

• Daily activity includes but is not limited to lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.

• Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs.
