Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to join the IRA team. The role focuses on resolving inventory discrepancies, cycle counting, bin audits, and correcting material counts in a fast paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years in inventory control, strong Excel and computer skills, experience with a warehouse management system, and sound communication abilities to coordinate with business partners and leadership.

Qualifications

• Analytical skills and experience required.
• 1-2 years' inventory control experience in Manufacturing, Wholesale, Distribution and Warehouse, Direct Marketing or Retail industry experience is required. Working in food environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications, including Excel required.
• Previous warehouse management system knowledge required, and relevant inventory systems experience preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• 1-2 years' forklift and/or reach lift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system inventory screens to research and resolve inventory discrepancies. Cycle counting, bin audits, line side storage audits.
• Respond to business partner requests for assistance by physically checking on-hand inventory and compare to system.
• Research discrepant inventory and physically search for lost/misplaced inventory.
• Use RF device to perform inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Document corrective actions taken and communicate results with team supervisor.
• Communicate issues affecting inventory with direct team, supervisor, and business partners.
• Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Identify system and physical discrepancies with inventory and with team supervisor direction provide guidance on appropriate corrections to business partners.
• Provide support as needed with cycle counting audits, bin audits, line side storage audits.
• Other duties/ projects as assigned.
