Job summary

Gourmet Foods International in West Caldwell, NJ is seeking an Inventory Clerk to perform daily cycle counts, reconcile inventory, and validate returns against documentation. You will ensure accuracy against system records and support audits while maintaining compliance with food safety standards.

The role requires entering data into multiple inventory systems, standing and walking most of the day, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexible shifts, OT, and a team-focused environment are offered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities.
• Maintain accurate physical inventory quantities and verify inventory against system records.
• Validate customer returns against return sheets, pickups, and invoices.
• Research and resolve inventory discrepancies and shortages.
• Utilize warehouse management and inventory systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Learn and effectively operate Power Warehouse and Power Enterprise systems.
• Verify product dates, rotation, and quality standards.
• Support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Assist with inventory audits and reporting activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to inventory transactions and adjustments.

What does your day look like?

• Consistent, regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. Employees must be able to work scheduled shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to support business and operational needs.

• College coursework or degree preferred
• Previous inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse experience
• Experience of working with warehouse management systems
• Experience in food distribution, warehouse, or logistics environments
