Job summary

Communications & Power Industries (CPI) is seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst to support manufacturing operations through accurate inventory management. You will analyze data, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with Materials, Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure materials are available when needed.

You will monitor ERP/MRP records, perform cycle counts, research variances, and maintain inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in inventory control or related field.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and practices.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management transactions.
• Strong Excel skills: formulas, filters, pivot tables, data analysis.
• Ability to research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP/MRP system.
• Analyze inventory levels, usage, transactions, and trends to identify discrepancies.
• Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
• Research variances and determine root causes of discrepancies.
• Reconcile physical inventory to system records and process adjustments.
• Monitor inventory transactions (receipts, issues, transfers, returns, adjustments).
• Identify slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and potentially short inventory.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Materials teams to maintain appropriate levels.
• Work with Production and Warehouse to resolve shortages and errors.
• Review negative inventory and unusual transactions; investigate variances.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations, part information, and status.
• Assist with annual physical inventories and periodic audits.
• Develop and maintain inventory reports, metrics, and dashboards.
• Analyze trends and suggest improvements to accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with ERP/MRP data cleanup and process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement in Supply Chain and Materials Mgmt.
