Job summary

PPG Industries is seeking an Inventory Control Analyst to uphold inventory accuracy and optimize processes across our Sylmar, California plant. You will support production operations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive system improvements to ensure reliable inventory data and efficient material flow.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field and 3+ years of inventory control or materials management experience, with strong ERP/MRP proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records within ERP/MRP systems
• Execute cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate, reconcile, and resolve discrepancies
• Track material movement across warehouse and production areas to ensure system alignment with physical inventory
• Evaluate and continuously improve inventory control procedures and transaction processes
• Analyze transaction errors to identify key drivers and implement sustainable corrective actions
• Partner with production teams to drive adherence to standard processes and improve data accuracy
• Contribute to initiatives that increase system reliability, enabling better production performance and reporting accuracy

Job description

As an Inventory Control Analyst at PPG, you'll play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing processes, and supporting production success through effective inventory management and system improvements.

This is an onsite position located at our Sylmar, California plant and will provide direct support to manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records within ERP/MRP systems
• Execute cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate, reconcile, and resolve discrepancies
• Track material movement across warehouse and production areas to ensure system alignment with physical inventory
• Evaluate and continuously improve inventory control procedures and transaction processes
• Analyze transaction errors to identify key drivers and implement sustainable corrective actions to eliminate root causes
• Partner with production teams to drive adherence to standard processes and improve data accuracy
• Contribute to initiatives that increase system reliability, enabling better production performance and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Finance, Logistics, or related field required
• 3 or more years of experience in inventory control, materials management, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or a related discipline
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and inventory transactions

Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $89.000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 4.5% of base salary.
