Job summary

PPG in Sylmar, CA is seeking a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift to supervise fabrication and processing of Aerospace Transparency materials onsite. You will lead production teams, drive lean initiatives, and coordinate staffing to improve efficiency while ensuring safety.

A Bachelor's degree with leadership experience or a HS diploma with extensive leadership is required, with aerospace experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of leadership experience.
• High school diploma with 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Aerospace industry experience preferred; familiarity with AS9100, lean manufacturing principles, and kaizen events.

Responsibilities

• Determine staffing levels based on production needs.

Job description

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising production staff in the fabrication and processing of Aerospace Transparency materials. This position is a 2nd shift position located fully onsite in our Sylmar, CA. facility. You will report to the Production Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Works as a team with functional area supervisors and managers to accomplish objectives and meet customer requirements of quality, service and performance expectations
• Responsible for identifying and eliminating waste in all phases of the production processes
• Trains, cross-trains and maintains proficiency records of employees
• Identifies Recommends proper staffing levels based on production needs
• Applies lean manufacturing and SPC principles
• Maintains inventory control and accuracy
• Supervises the shift production teams. Ensures that each team member adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding safety, health, and the environment and that vital training programs are in place to ensure that all applicable standards are met. You will encourage a continuous improvement of individual and team performance, as well as align with all EEO policies and procedures
• Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to improve efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and 2+ years of leadership experience
• High school diploma and 5+ years of leadership experience required

The base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 7% of base salary.
