Job summary

Textron Inc. is seeking an Inventory Configuration Associate (CBC) to support commercial spares ordering and forecasting.

The role involves reviewing spares flags, coordinating with Engineering, and performing ECO reviews with MMCR outputs to update internal records and external displays. The position requires strong Microsoft Office skills, four years of college or equivalent in aircraft technical courses, and extensive experience in inventory control and customer-facing roles.

Qualifications

• Four years of college, or equivalent in aircraft technical courses leading to A&P license, plus three and one-half years experience in similar work.
• Two Additional years of qualifying experience in similar work may be substituted for two years educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review spares flag when a potential error has occurred and submit Enovia Issue for Engineering.
• Work GAINS Planner Portal reviewing and uploading forecasted Demand Events and Channel Demand.
• Perform ECO review including MMCR updates and notes for internal reference and Vista display.
• Support Vista customer portal, spare parts forecasting/stocking, and asset phasing by correcting spares data in ADR database and informing GAINS forecast.
• Conduct configuration reviews of non-catalog parts via Special Order Pricing Request and escalate as needed.
• Populate override databases to adjust stock vs non-stock for special cases (e.g., color or dimensions).
• Check RAM (bulletin) requests and route to IBP per instructions.
• Support Safety Board by tracking RAM inventory and approving bulletin release when criteria are met.
• Review excess inventory lists annually and provide scrap, surplus, or keep recommendations.
• Participate in collaborative sessions to develop and improve processes as directed by Management.

Description

The Inventory Configuration Associate supports commercial spares customer ordering and forecasting by reviewing, making recommendations, and providing coordination support for the following processes related to inventory configuration and other inputs.

Proposed Duties and Responsibilities

• Review spares flag when a potential error has occurred at the Engineering level or a business need is identified and submit Enovia Issue for Engineering.
• Work GAINS Planner Portal as assigned by management which may include review and upload of forecasted “Demand Events” and “Channel Demand” in GAINS. Additional work in GAINS may be assigned as developed/needed.
• Perform commercial spares ECO (Engineering Change Order) review process as assigned in ECO tracker tool, with outputs including Material Master Change Requests (MMCR), to add relevant notes for internal reference and external Vista display.
• Support downstream processes including the Vista customer ordering portal, spare parts forecasting/stocking, and asset phasing by correcting spares plant extension or GAINS flag errors and populating records in "ADR" database (chaining of parts/“supersession”) which is an input to GAINS forecast, stock vs. non-stock, and VB13 Material Determination.
• Conduct configuration review and provide recommendations in response to requests assigned for “configuration review” of non-catalog parts via the “Special Order Pricing Request” SharePoint process. This may include submitting Enovia Issues to Engineering/ME Planning or making a “bid”/”no bid” recommendation as defined by business strategy or escalating to Program Management for further direction.
• As required/identified, populate the part segmentation (“lab/office”) override database to make stock/nonstock adjustments from base logic due to special cases (e.g. customer specified color, dimensions, etc. which must be “make-to-order”).
• Check RAM (bulletin) requests from Product Support Engineering (PSE) team for errors and populate Sharepoint request to Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team per instructions.
• Support Safety Board by tracking RAM inventory status and approving bulletin release once all criteria are met. May require notifying warehouse of stock reconciliation actions (e.g. scrap, rework, RTV).
• Perform inventory configuration review of excess list provided by management (typically annually) and provide recommendations such as scrap, surplus, keep.
• Where directed or required by Management participate in collaborative sessions with Management and other employees to assist and contribute to the development of new processes and existing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Four years of college, or equivalent in aircraft technical courses leading to A&P license, plus three and one-half (3 1/2) years experience in similar work as described above or three and one-half (3 1/2) years experience in manufacture liaison work; aircraft inventory control functions of a higher nature equivalent to those described above, aircraft mechanical experience in field service work wherein a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft parts and application of same has been gained. Three years of customer support experience. Must be comfortable and communicate effectively in a customer facing role. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Two Additional years of qualifying experience in similar work as described above may be substituted for two years educational requirements.
