Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Warehouse Assistant to support inventory management at a regional distribution center in Upington, Northern Cape. The role emphasizes precise stocktaking, cycle counts, data entry, and maintaining accurate stock records in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will work with the inventory team to verify goods against orders, report discrepancies, and help with receiving and shipping documentation while following safety regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer literacy including MS Excel.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in regular inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Verify received goods against purchase orders and update inventory records.
• Identify and report discrepancies in stock levels or damaged goods.
• Enter inventory data accurately into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Help organise and maintain stockroom for efficient access and tracking.
• Support receiving and shipping with accurate inventory documentation.
• Perform basic inventory analysis and report findings to the inventory manager.
• Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks; adhere to safety regulations.
