Job summary

Cimarron Trailers in Chickasha, OK is seeking an Inventory Associate to maintain organization, safety, and accuracy in the parts and materials flow. You will manage shipping, receiving, transfers, and paperwork while safeguarding inventory and ensuring timely customer parts fulfillment.

Ideal candidates have manufacturing experience, forklift familiarity, and strong data-entry and mathematical skills. This role supports lean processes and requires regular attendance, with potential for overtime

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Valid Forklift Certification (can be provided through Cimarron training).

Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace.
• Handle all aspects of inventory control including shipping, receiving, and transfer of inventory with paperwork.
• Security, control, and distribution of inventory and shop supplies; stock parts at use locations.
• Coordinate with sales to ensure timely turnaround on customer parts orders.
• Perform daily cycle counts, process orders, and report inventory issues to leadership.
• Adhere to lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kanban, PoU storage) and stay flexible to float as needed.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace.
• Responsible for all aspects of inventory control including, but not limited to:

Shipping, receiving, and transfer of inventory including completion of all

associated paperwork

• Security, control, and distribution of all inventory and shop supplies
• Stocking of parts and supplies at point of use locations
• Follow up on incoming /outgoing parts issues to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
• Work with Part Sales to ensure accuracy and timely turnaround on all customer parts orders.

Daily accuracy on cycle counts, sales orders, shipping, receiving, and transfer of materials.

Report any inventory or supply issues to the Inventory Manager or Inventory Team Lead as they arise.

• Maintain an open line of communication with department heads to fulfill their daily department needs
• Adhere to and sustain lean manufacturing processes including but not limited to: 5-S, Point of Use Storage, Kanban systems, etc., to maintain productivity requirements and a clean, safe work area.
• Be flexible and willing to float to other areas as needed by the company.

• Regular attendance is a critical function of this job
• This position interacts with the public and customers therefore, the Inventory Associate is expected to wear company provided attire and maintain a neat, clean appearance daily.
• This is a safety-sensitive role, subject to periodic or random fitness for duty exams and drug or alcohol screenings.

Education and Experience:

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse experience preferred
• Forklift experience in manufacturing environment preferred
• Valid Forklift Certification (can be provided through Cimarron training)

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch
• Must possess the ability to work effectively with your team and other teams.
• Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently when necessary.
• Basic understanding of computer data entry and inventory accuracy principles.
• Basic math skills to include count accuracy and the use of a calculator.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
• Must maintain a regular work schedule to ensure product flow

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Physical Demands:

• Required to stand and move about the facility for prolonged periods of time, including up to an entire 8-hour shift as well as any required overtime.
• Able to stoop, bend, twist, squat, and kneel during the course of the day
• Frequent and repetitive lifting of up to 25 lbs. throughout shift and occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs. individually throughout the shift. Anything over 50 lbs. is teamlifted.
• Required to be able to safely and effectively handle the necessary tools required to perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to smoke/fumes from welding operations
