AmeriCorps VISTA invites a motivated Inventory and Logistics Systems Specialist to help build capacity at Live 2 Give Hope in Lebanon, Missouri. The role focuses on creating internal systems to manage stock and space efficiently, enabling staff and volunteers to serve more families in the region.
The position is full-time under the AmeriCorps VISTA program, starting 10/19/2026 and ending 10/18/2027, with benefits including healthcare, relocation allowance, and an education award or stipend.
Live 2 Give Hope is a nonprofit based in Lebanon, Missouri, serving Laclede County and the surrounding region. The organization supports families affected by poverty and involvement in the child welfare system through programs like the Fostering Hope Closet, which provides clothing, beds, and essential items to foster and at-risk families, Kids' Night Out, a respite program for foster families, and Paving the Way, a life skills program for youth aging out of foster care. This VISTA project works to reduce poverty-related child welfare involvement in Laclede County by strengthening the organizational systems that connect low-income and at-risk families to these existing programs. The Inventory and Logistics Systems Specialist will build capacity by creating the internal infrastructure Live 2 Give Hope needs to manage resources efficiently, including an inventory tracking system, a forecasting process, logistics workflows, resource planning tools, and documentation that supports long-term use by staff and volunteers. This is capacity-building work, not direct service. The VISTA member will not perform inventory functions directly. Instead, they will develop the systems and processes that allow Live 2 Give Hope's staff and volunteers to manage stock and space efficiently, so more families receive the resources they need, both now and after the VISTA term ends.
The VISTA member will design and implement an inventory tracking system, including a written procedure for logging items received, stored, and prepared for program use. They will develop a forecasting process that analyzes historical inventory data to project anticipated needs by season and program. The member will develop logistics workflows that map how items move from intake through storage to program distribution readiness, and will create resource planning tools and inventory and logistics documentation to standardize how staff and volunteers manage stock and space. Finally, the member will develop training materials and a sustainability plan to support continued implementation of these systems once their service year is complete.
