Live 2 Give Hope is a nonprofit based in Lebanon, Missouri, serving Laclede County and the surrounding region. The organization supports families affected by poverty and involvement in the child welfare system through programs like the Fostering Hope Closet, which provides clothing, beds, and essential items to foster and at-risk families, Kids' Night Out, a respite program for foster families, and Paving the Way, a life skills program for youth aging out of foster care.This VISTA project works to reduce poverty-related child welfare involvement in Laclede County by strengthening the organizational systems that connect low-income and at-risk families to these existing programs. The Funding and Resource Development Specialist will build capacity by creating the grant and fundraising infrastructure Live 2 Give Hope needs to diversify and sustain its funding, including a grant opportunity pipeline, a grant tracking and reporting system, a donor stewardship process, and reusable fundraising tools and calendars.This is capacity-building work, not direct service. The VISTA member will not work directly with clients or families. Instead, they will develop the systems and materials that allow Live 2 Give Hope's staff to secure and sustain the resources needed to serve more families, both now and after the VISTA term ends.
The VISTA member will research grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities and build a written funding pipeline that identifies prospective funders, eligibility criteria, and application deadlines. They will design and implement a grant tracking and reporting system, including proposal templates and a reporting calendar.The member will create a donor engagement and stewardship system, including communication templates and a tracking process, and will develop a fundraising calendar and reusable fundraising tools, including campaign templates and appeal materials.Finally, the member will document a long-term sustainability plan for grant development and donor stewardship so these systems continue running smoothly once their service year is complete.
