Job summary

Gränges Americas Inc. is seeking an entry-level Cost Accountant to support inventory tracking, journalizing, and data accuracy for reroll and outside slitting processes in a manufacturing setting.

You will collaborate with Customer Service and other teams, perform month-end close tasks, review data collections, and help prepare finished goods roll forwards. A bachelor's degree and strong Excel skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and track purchased reroll materials.
  • Tie out purchased reroll at month end and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Record all in-transit reroll via journal entries.
  • Monitor and record transactions for outside slitting.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries for outside slitting.
  • Review and correct West plant data collection for completeness and accuracy.
  • Update Customer Specs and review Ship Tallies.
  • Prepare Finished Goods Inventory Roll Forward at Month End.
  • Provide support to Senior Cost Accountant daily and analyze variances.

Purpose

Entry level position performing inventory tracking duties and providing support for Senior Cost Accountant.

Job Responsibilities
  • Receive and track purchased reroll
  • Tie out purchased reroll at month end and ensure inventory is accurate
  • Accrue via journal entry all in-transit reroll
  • Monitor and record all transactions for outside slitting
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to ensure FGT’s have been created for outside slit coils sent to customers
  • Prepare journal entries at month end for outside slitting
  • Review and correct West plant data collection for completeness and accuracy
  • Update Customer Specs
  • Review Ship Tally Detail Report
  • Prepare Finished Goods Inventory Roll Forward at Month End
  • Provide Support to Senior Cost Accountant on a daily basis
  • Analyze & report on causes of physical inventory variances and improve processes to reduce variances
  • Analyze and report on melt loss and scrap
  • Work in a safe and healthy manner, adhering to all safety rules and practices.
  • Represent the company’s core values of being committed, action oriented, and sustainable.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills
  • Ability to coordinate and work cross-functionally
  • Self-starter, detail oriented and able to work well without continual supervision
