Job summary

Griot's Garage is seeking an Inventory Analyst II to perform cycle counts, analyze inventory data, and optimize stock accuracy across SAP/Oracle/ERP systems. You will partner with Supply Chain, Sales, Manufacturing and Logistics to maintain 97–99% accuracy and drive cost savings.

Responsibilities include audits, reconciliation, system updates, and process improvements to prevent stockouts and excess inventory while ensuring safe warehouse operations in Plainfield, IN.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

Position Summary

The Inventory Analyst II conducts scheduled inventory audit via physical cycle count process by checking physical stock against inventory records to ensure accuracy. The IA analyzes and interprets inventory-related data from various sources, such as receipt of inventory records, supplier (CMO) information, and inventory management systems. The IA is also responsible for managing and optimizing inventory operations, ensuring accurate stock levels, and facilitating the smooth flow of goods within the organization. With expertise in data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualization, the analysts identify patterns, trends, and insights that inform inventory strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Ability to perform a mix of data-driven and hands‑on tasks:

Data Analysis & Reporting: Collecting sales and inventory data to identify trends in loss and recovery. Report gathering and preparation for weekly or monthly summaries for management regarding inventory accuracy, turnover rates, and obsolescence.

Inventory Optimization: Monitor and analyze inventory levels, turnover, and demand trends to prevent shortages and excess stock while maintaining raw materials and finished goods inventory accuracy of 97-99% or greater. Utilize ABC inventory classification methodologies to prioritize inventory management activities and optimize counting frequencies based on item value, movement, and criticality.

Inventory Audits & Reconciliation:

• A Items: High Value/High Usage counted four times per year.
• B Items: Moderate Value/Usage counted two timers per year.
• C Items: Low Value/Low Usage counted once per year.
• Conduct physical inventory audits, reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and ERP/WMS records, investigate root causes of variances, and implement corrective actions. Audit item master data, BOMs, routings, inventory transactions, and location accuracy to maintain inventory integrity.

Inventory Audits & Reconciliation: Audit ERP item master, BOMs, routings, and inventory transactions via regular physical audits (cycle counts) and investigating inaccuracies between physical stock and system records and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy of system and physical location.

System Management: Maintaining and updating inventory databases, using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) software.

Process Improvement: Partner with QC/QA on non‑conformances and quarantine inventory by developing and implementing inventory control procedures and recommending system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Working closely with Supply chain, Sales, Manufacturing and Logistics teams to coordinate inventory flows and ensure timely transfer of inventory between locations and replenishment of stock.

Loss Prevention: Investigate inventory losses or discrepancies and implement strategies to prevent future issues. Train staff on inventory procedures and best practices.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience: 4-6 years of experience in logistics and manufacturing operations inventory control
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking stock levels, conducting regular audits, and reconciling discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis) with experience with inventory software like SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite
• Analytical Abilities: Strong mathematical and problem‑solving skills to interpret complex datasets and identify root causes of errors
• Physical Requirements: Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks and work in a warehouse environment is preferred
• Certifications (Optional): Credentials such as CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) are preferred
