Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Inventor Drafter to support the design and manufacturing of modular wall systems and architectural products. You will create detailed manufacturing drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, and BOMs using Autodesk Inventor and Vault.

Ideal candidates will have strong Inventor experience, Vault administration skills, and a passion for precise CAD data management in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years drafting/design in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience using Autodesk Vault or similar PDM systems.
• Experience creating 3D Models, Shop Drawings, Assembly Drawings, BOMs.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify 3D models, shop drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing docs using Inventor.
• Develop and maintain accurate BOMs for manufacturing and production.
• Use Vault to manage CAD files, revisions, drawing releases, and docs.
• Collaborate with engineering, drafting and manufacturing teams to ensure production-ready drawings.
• Update Inventor models/drawings based on design changes and customer requirements.
• Provide detailed documentation to support fabrication, assembly, and installation.

Inventor drafter/ designer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Inventor Drafter to support the design and manufacturing of custom modular wall systems and architectural products. This role is heavily focused on creating detailed manufacturing drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, and bills of materials using Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working in Inventor daily, managing engineering documentation within Vault, and supporting manufacturing teams through accurate drawings and BOM creation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed design work, product development, and CAD data management within a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Create and modify 3D models, shop drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation using Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and production.
• Utilize Autodesk Vault to manage CAD files, revisions, drawing releases, and engineering documentation.
• Work closely with engineering, drafting, and manufacturing teams to ensure drawings are accurate and production-ready.
• Review and update existing Inventor models and drawings based on design changes and customer requirements.
• Support manufacturing by creating detailed documentation for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
• Maintain proper revision control and file organization within Vault.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Participate in process improvements related to Inventor workflows, Vault data management, and drafting standards.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of drafting, detailing, or design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Strong experience using Autodesk Vault or similar PDM systems.
• Experience creating:

  • Assembly Drawings
  • Manufacturing Drawings
  • Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience supporting manufacturing and production teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modular wall systems, fixtures, architectural products, or prefabricated structures.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Revit experience.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Experience managing CAD files and revisions through PDM systems.
• Experience working in a project-based manufacturing environment.

Ideal Candidate

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the Inventor and Vault expert within an organization. Candidates with extensive experience creating production drawings, maintaining BOMs, managing engineering files, and supporting manufacturing through Inventor modeling and Vault administration will be highly successful.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
