Job summary

Mestek Machinery, a leading designer and manufacturer of metal forming solutions for HVAC ductwork, is seeking a qualified automation engineer. The role focuses on designing, developing, and managing projects from conception through completion, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to budget.

The ideal candidate will manage PLC-based control systems, develop automation strategies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance precision technology and manufacturing equipment.

Qualifications

• BSEE, BSME: 5-7 years’ experience in the industrial automation industry.
• Knowledge of current technology & applicable electrical codes (UL/CSA/CE).
• Working knowledge of major brand PLCs: AB, Siemens, B&R.
• Knowledge of electromechanical relations of an entire automation system.
• Motivation to contribute to engineering procedures.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent technical, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of code compliance requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, debug, and source vendors for automation control systems.
• Write and debug PLC code and device drivers.
• Program MMI/HMI devices and interface circuitry.
• Determine power and load requirements for systems.
• Create design verification processes and testing tools.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software and controls teams.
