Job summary

Albany Med is seeking an experienced Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist III to join the Adult Cardiac Cath Lab. You will work across diagnostic, interventional, and advanced cardiovascular procedures, serving as a clinical resource and mentor to staff.

The role requires RCIS, BLS/ACLS, and PALS within six months, with a minimum of three years of cath lab experience. You will participate in STEMI care and on-call rotations in a high-acuity academic program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Technology program.
• Minimum three years of cardiac catheterization laboratory or invasive cardiovascular experience.
• Advanced competency in diagnostic cardiac catheterization, coronary intervention, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• BLS and ACLS required upon hire.
• Current RCIS credential required upon hire.
• Prescribed PALS within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Function independently across core and advanced Cath Lab responsibilities, including hemodynamic monitoring and sterile technique.
• Demonstrate advanced scrub competency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization.
• Anticipate procedural progression, complications, and equipment needs during complex cases.
• Apply advanced knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and invasive technologies.
• Support structural heart procedures and STEMI care within competency.
• Serve as a clinical resource and precept developing staff.
• Support safe implementation and troubleshooting of evolving equipment.
• Participate in emergency on-call rotation during STEMI and time-sensitive events.

The Cardiovascular Technologist III (CVT III) represents the advanced clinical level of Albany Medical Center's Cardiovascular Technologist career pathway. The CVT III is an experienced, credentialed invasive cardiovascular professional who functions independently across diagnostic, interventional, and advanced cardiovascular procedures while serving as a clinical resource and preceptor to developing staff. Albany Med's high-acuity regional referral and academic cardiovascular program provides extensive exposure to acute STEMI care, advanced and complex coronary intervention, mechanical circulatory support, structural heart procedures, and critically ill cardiovascular patients. The CVT III maintains a primary direct-care role while contributing to procedural education, competency development, and the adoption of evolving technologies and practices.# Essential Duties and Responsibilities· Function independently across core and advanced Cath Lab responsibilities, including hemodynamic monitoring, procedural documentation, sterile technique, diagnostic catheterization, coronary intervention, and advanced cardiovascular procedures.· Demonstrate advanced scrub competency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, including complex coronary intervention and advanced procedural equipment and technologies.· Anticipate procedural progression, potential complications, and equipment needs during complex and high-acuity cases.· Apply advanced knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, coronary angiography, hemodynamics, cardiovascular pharmacology, and invasive cardiovascular technologies.· Support structural heart procedures, mechanical circulatory support, STEMI care, and other advanced or emergent cardiovascular therapies within demonstrated competency.· Serve as an advanced clinical resource and participate in orientation, precepting, real-time clinical guidance, and competency development for developing technologists and students.· Support safe implementation and troubleshooting of evolving cardiovascular equipment and technologies.· Participate independently in the emergency on-call rotation during STEMI and other time-sensitive cardiovascular emergencies. # Qualifications· Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Technology program or appropriate post-secondary health science/allied health program.· Minimum three years of cardiac catheterization laboratory or invasive cardiovascular experience.· Demonstrated advanced competency in diagnostic cardiac catheterization, coronary intervention, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced cardiovascular procedures and technologies.· BLS and ACLS required upon hire.· Current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential required upon hire.· PALS within six months of hire.
