Job summary

Danbury Hospital in the United States seeks an Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist to perform procedures under physician direction, ensuring accurate diagnosis and optimal treatment of heart disease with maximum patient safety and comfort.

The role requires an Associate's degree, basic computer/EKG interpretation skills, and experience in endovascular/interventional procedures. RCIS is preferred; ACLS/BLS/ARRT/RAD credentials are required or desired.

Qualifications

• Associates level degree required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to interpret EKGs and hemodynamic tracings.
• Experience in endovascular, interventional and diagnostic procedures.
• Minimum experience: one year.
• Desired: RCIS preferred.
• Credentials: ACLS, BLS, ARRT, RAD.

Responsibilities

• Assist hospital/medical staff by scrubbing and using sterile technique during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
• Monitor hemodynamic status and ECG; record data and generate reports after procedures.
• Obtain medical history, review labs, educate patient/family, and obtain consent.
• Prepare cath lab, calibrate QA checks on radiographic/hemodynamic equipment.
• Position patient, connect monitoring devices, perform ECG, prep access site, document in medical record.
• Assist cardiologist with arterial closure devices and achieve hemostasis.
• Serve as a resource for staff on complex equipment and supplies.
• Collect data for ACC-NCDR and CT Registry databases.
• Participate in inventory, QI, scheduling, IV therapy, and evaluation of new products.
• Maintain on-call coverage for emergency procedures, pacemaker interrogations, and ICDs.
