Job summary

100 Albany Med Health System is seeking a qualified professional for the Adult Cardiac Cath Lab in Albany, New York. The position involves active participation in the peri-procedural process, manipulation of instrumentation, and ensuring a sterile field during procedures.

Department/Unit: Adult Cardiac Cath Lab
Work Shift: Day (United States of America)
Salary Range: $64,972.00 - $97,458.00

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in all phases of the peri‑procedural process.
• Manipulates procedural instrumentation under the direct supervision of the Interventional Cardiologist.
• Responsible for supplies and equipment necessary during the invasive cardiology procedure.
• Anticipates the needs of the Interventional Cardiologist.
• Constantly vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field.
• Able to function independently for basic procedures and with minimal supervision of a senior technologist in the scrub role during advanced and highly complex procedures, and function as a circulator under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• Requires emergency on‑call duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate Degree or graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Training Program or graduate from an accredited Allied Health Program.
• Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.
• At least 1 year in the cardiovascular specialty.
• Must obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Adult Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Demonstrates familiarity with and working knowledge of normal vs. abnormal cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation.
• Able to anticipate and prepare for necessary treatment if adverse events occur intra‑procedure.
• Able to anticipate and prepare necessary equipment for emergency procedures.
