Job summary

Emplify Health, a partnership of Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System, seeks a skilled cardiovascular lab professional in La Crosse, WI. You will assist in EP studies, ablations and device implants, working with physicians, RNs and techs to support complex procedures.

The position requires a cardiovascular tech diploma/assoc degree, 1 year of patient care, BLS, and ACLS within 3 months. 60 hours per pay period on 10-hour shifts, with a starting wage of $34.30/hour and benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma or associate-level health science program in cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, exercise physiology, or related field required.
• One year of direct patient care experience in a healthcare-related field required.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• ACLS certification required within three months of hire.
• Strong critical-thinking, technical, communication, and teamwork skills for fast-paced procedural environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing electrophysiology studies, ablations and cardiac device implants and mapping to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Assist physician as scrub person; operate fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, intra-cardiac ultrasound and 3D mapping equipment.
• Cross-train in multiple roles (scrub, X-ray and monitor).
• Pursue RCIS or RCES certification if possible.
• Prepare patients and EP lab equipment; ensure tools and devices are ready for procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot EP lab equipment; monitor patient responses and maintain safety and efficiency.
• Monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamics and rhythms during procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols.

What You'll Do

• Assist in performing electrophysiology studies, ablations and cardiac device implants and cardiac mapping to aide in medical diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of abnormal cardiac arrythmia to include a vast number of electrophysiology procedures
• Assist physician as a scrub person according to prescribed standards. Handle and operate equipment such as fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, intra-cardiac ultrasound and 3D mapping. Display understanding of anatomy and physiology, the pathological condition affecting the patient, the planned procedure, and consider any variations that may be necessary to meet the needs of the patient.
• Team structure consists of a Physician and a combination of RNs and techs with the expectation to cross train in multiple roles (scrub, X-ray and monitor)
• Desire to pursue RCIS or RCES certification preferred.
• Must be able to perform in a team dynamic.
• Prepare patients and EP lab equipment, ensuring all tools and devices are ready for procedures
• This role involves operating and troubleshooting EP lab equipment, monitoring patient responses and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
• Monitor patient's vital signs, hemodynamics, and cardiac rhythms during procedure
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards

What You'll Need

• Cath lab and/or X-ray experience preferred!
• Completion of a diploma or associate-level health science program in cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, exercise physiology, or a related field required.
• One year of direct patient care experience in a healthcare-related field required.
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within three months of hire.
• Strong critical-thinking, technical, communication, and teamwork skills with the ability to perform in a fast-paced procedural environment.
• Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Vascular Lab, Interventional Radiology, or similar procedural setting preferred.
• RCIS, RCES, ARRT, CST, or related cardiovascular/procedural certifications preferred.
