Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist with invasive cardiovascular procedures in a hospital cath lab. The role requires collaboration with physicians and supervision, performing scrub, monitor, and circulator duties.

Hours are 0700-1730, Monday to Friday. The position emphasizes procedural support, equipment operation, and patient safety in a high-acuity cardiovascular environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree with science focus or healthcare experience.
• Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred).
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification within eighteen months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during procedures in the cath lab by interpreting dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician as scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists as circulator by monitoring patient status and handing supplies during procedures.
• Assists with patient transport to and from the department.
• Cleans and stocks cath lab.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and dosages used.
• Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of procedures.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and manages inventory.
• Prepares lab for procedures and maintains sterile technique; marks arterial pulses.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems.
