Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead nursing practice projects and collaborate with management to implement programs across the organization.

The CNS will serve as the clinical nurse leader for an area of nursing practice, applying expert knowledge to improve patient care and education. This role focuses on intraoperative OR nursing and perioperative coverage, partnering with nurse management to advance evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing.
• RN license issued by California.
• CNS license or equivalent advanced practice licensure.
• BLS/CPR certification at hire with plan to obtain BART within six months.
• 5+ years of recent clinical experience including intraoperative OR nursing.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice, data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills for education and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects in nursing practice and collaborate with management to implement new policies.
• Serve as the clinical nurse leader for a program or area of nursing practice.
• Provide education, training, and direction to nursing staff and coordinate with stakeholders in OR and perioperative settings.
