Job summary

Illinois Tech is seeking an Intramurals and Recreation Coordinator to manage and grow intramural and recreation offerings for the campus community. The role supervises 20–40 student workers, oversees budgets up to $40K, and coordinates leagues, tournaments, and fitness classes.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree with 2–3 years of experience in campus recreation. Master’s degree and certifications (YMCA/NIRSA) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in campus recreation or related field and 2–3 years of professional experience.
• Master’s degree preferred; YMCA/NIRSA certification desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, manage budgets, and coordinate intramural programs.

Responsibilities

• Hires, trains, and evaluates staff for intramural and recreation programs.
• Develops maintenance plans for equipment and facilities.
• Collaborates with community organizations to reach department objectives.
• Monitors inventory storage and distribution of intramural supplies.
• Oversees scheduling of fitness classes, clubs, and tournaments.
• Develops marketing plans for leagues and events and supports student recruitment.
