Job summary

Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights is seeking an Interventional Vascular Technologist. Join a Magnet-designated facility and help deliver high-quality patient care with state-of-the-art imaging technology in a collaborative team.

You will work with Vascular Surgeons and a multidisciplinary team to perform minimally invasive vascular procedures, educate patients, and maintain accurate procedural records while upholding the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Registered Technologist credentialed by ARRT in good standing.
• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Vascular Surgeons and an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care during minimally invasive vascular procedures.
• Scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol using sterile technique.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Record and maintain procedural data, including injection data and elapsed fluoroscopic time.
• Monitor equipment, systems, and arrange for timely repairs as needed.
• Engage in ongoing learning through periodic in-service programs and professional sessions.

Job Details

The Interventional Vascular Technologist collaborates closely with Vascular Surgeons and an experienced interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care during minimally invasive vascular procedures.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, including effective closed-loop communication, and is committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. Prior interventional vascular experience is preferred, but we welcome motivated new graduates who are eager to learn and grow.

A caregiver in this position works M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Utilize sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.
• Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions and major effects.
• Record and maintain procedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time and procedural information.
• Monitor equipment, systems, clean equipment, and effects timely repair.
• Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing
• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
• Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography: R.T.(R)( CV)( ARRT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiology: R.T.(R)( VI)( ARRT)
• Prior CT (Computed Tomography) experience
• Comfortable interpreting cross- sectional anatomy during procedures

Physical Requirements:

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
