Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - East Lexington is seeking an Interventional Technologist to prepare and assist physicians during complex interventional procedures, ensuring optimal imaging and patient safety.

The role involves operating advanced imaging equipment, monitoring vitals, and maintaining sterile fields, with a focus on rapid decision making and clinical leadership in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • KY medical radiographer license required upon hire.
  • ARRT Registered Technologist in Radiography required upon hire.
  • ARRT certifications in Bone Densitometry, CT, Cardio Interventional Radiography, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Quality Management, Radiation Therapy, Vascular Interventional Radiography, and Vascular Sonography upon hire or as applicable.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Operate C-arm imaging equipment and provide radiation protection.
  • Prepare sterile fields; function as scrub assistant and hemodynamic monitor.
  • Maintain Cath Lab/IR/Endovascular inventory and prepare devices (atherectomy, IABP, IVUS, Impella, OCT, thrombectomy, coils).
  • Demonstrate rapid decision making, clinical leadership, and act as a preceptor during STEMI, Stroke, respiratory and cardiac arrest events.
  • Provide patient/family education related to procedures and cardiovascular risk factors.
  • Assist nursing staff and report deviations of standards to nurse leader.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Interventional Technologist, you will prepare and assist physicians during complex interventional procedures, ensuring optimal imaging and patient safety.

Every day you will ready the procedure room, operate advanced imaging equipment, monitor patient vitals, and assist with instruments while maintaining sterile fields.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert knowledge of interventional principles, meticulous attention to detail, and collaborative skills in a high-pressure environment, crucial for successful patient outcomes.

  • Responsible for the operation of c-arm radiation equipment, provides radiation protection, and demonstrates competency for all procedural applications.
  • Prepares sterile fields without error or violation of integrity of aseptic technique. Functions as scrub assist and hemodynamic monitor.
  • Knowledgeable regarding prep and use of all current devices in Cath Lab/IR/Endovascular inventory. This includes devices and adjunct therapies to include atherectomy, IABP, IVUS, Impella, CTO, DES, DCB, OCT, thrombectomy, and embolic coils. Procedures include PCI, PTCA, and PTA, cerebral and visceral angiography and interventions, stent placement, line placements, dialysis access maintenance, pacemaker and ICD implant.
  • Demonstrates rapid decision making, critical thinking, and clinical leadership skills. Acts as a preceptor. Responds quickly and effectively to STEMI, Stroke, respiratory and cardiac arrest.
  • Provides patient/family education related to procedure and cardiovascular disease risk factors.
  • Assists nursing staff in all aspects of patient care. Reports all deviations of standards to nurse leader.

$25,000 Sign on bonus and up to $24,000 in educational assistant for eligible hires!
