The University of Miami is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist - Level II to support interventional radiology at Lennar Foundation Medical Center in Coral Gables, FL. You will assist with complex procedures, maintain aseptic technique, and ensure patient safety and high-quality imaging while minimizing radiation exposure.

The role requires collaboration with radiologists, nurses, and staff to keep procedures efficient and patient-centered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent is required.
• Certification in radiology or related field is required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience is required.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Verifies the patient's ID by checking their name and date of birth.
• Corroborates patient's clinical history and ensures information is documented for use.
• Assists with patient interviews before procedures and documents information.
• Ensures proper informed consent is obtained by the attending radiologist.
• Prepares the patient to minimize anxiety and achieves desired results.
• Maintains sterile technique and adheres to aseptic procedures.
• Assists radiologist throughout procedures with supplies and equipment.
• Applies radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient and staff.
• Positions patient and acquires scout film for quality imaging.
• Initiates life support and assists in CPR during emergencies.
