University of Miami Health System in Miami, FL, is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist 2 to work full-time on-site. The role supports interventional radiology procedures and complex imaging with attention to radiation safety and patient comfort.

The incumbent will handle patient preparation, imaging, and collaboration with interventional physicians to ensure high-quality care. ARRT and BLS certifications are required, with at least two years of related experience.

Qualificações

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• ARRT certification and BLS from The American Heart Association.

Responsabilidades

• Verifies patient identity and corroborates clinical history for accurate documentation.
• Assist with patient interviews before procedures and document relevant information.
• Ensure attending radiologist obtains proper informed consent.
• Prepare patients to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
• Notify appropriate personnel of changes in patient status.
• Maintain sterile techniques and strict aseptic technique during procedures.
• Assist radiologist throughout procedures with necessary supplies.
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Position patient for examination and obtain high-quality scout film.
• Provide care for physical and psychological needs during procedures.
• Initiate life support measures and assist in CPR during emergencies.
• Monitor patient status with appropriate devices and maintain knowledge of monitoring equipment.
• Provide patient education in collaboration with department staff.
• Adhere to University policies and safeguard assets.
