Job summary

Ochsner Health System is looking for an Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our Baton Rouge team. The role involves safely preparing for and scrubbing into interventional procedures in collaboration with radiologists and nursing staff. Requires a radiologic technology program and ARRT eligibility or full registration.

Current unrestricted license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support certification are required. Prior interventional radiology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT registry eligible or registry with 90 days to employment.
• Current ARRT registration or registry-eligible status and temporary state license required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Operates radiology equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality prior to transmission.
• Maintains quality control procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Supports department operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment).
• Adapts communication style to patient population and privacy requirements.
