Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Interventional Radiologic Technologist to perform advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. You will scrub, monitor, assist providers, and respond to patient distress with the team.

Active ARRT (R) certification and Indiana radiologic technologist license are required; must live within 30 minutes for call response. Associates degree or higher in Radiology is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare entry site, drape patient, and set up instruments for cardiac lab procedures.
• Ensure high-quality x-ray images and maintain imaging equipment.
• Attend to patient needs during procedures.
• Circulate and scrub as applicable; assist physician with catheters.
• Monitor hemodynamic and electrical data using appropriate equipment.
• Participate in life-saving measures as needed.
• On-call as scheduled.
• Transport patients to nursing units.
• Prepare lab rooms with adequate stock.
• Communicate with care team to deliver patient-centered care.

Education

Associates Degree in Radiology or Completion of certification program in Radiography

The Cardiac Cath Lab Interventional Rad Tech performs advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and peripheral vascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Cardiac Cath Lab Interventional Radiology Technologists are responsible for scrubbing, monitoring, and assisting providers as requested. Technologists respond with the team to patient distress situations and assist with equipment quality control and inventory management. Must live within 30 minutes for call response time.

Exceptional Skills And Qualifications

• Prepares patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures by preparing site of entry, - draping patient, arranging sterilized instruments and catheters, and calibrating and setting up pressure transducers and tubing.
• Is responsible for preparing and ensuring that all x-ray images are of good quality and x-ray related equipment for procedures are maintained.
• Attends to patient needs during cardiac lab procedures.
• Circulates during procedure, as applicable.
• Scrubs during procedure, as applicable. Assists the physician in maneuvering catheters.
• Monitors and records hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data by operating - hemodynamic and electrical amplifiers and digital and line fluoroscopic equipment.
• Participates in life-saving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Participates in On-call per established call schedule.
• Assists in transporting patients to nursing units.
• Prepares the Cardiac Lab procedures rooms by ensuring that adequate stock is available.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
• Effectively communicates with members of the care team to deliver high quality, patient centered care.
• Education: Associates Degree in Radiology or Completion of certification program in Radiography
• License: Required: Current ARRT (R) and current license as a Radiologic Technologist by the State of Indiana
