Fairview is now seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join our Interventional Imaging team at our St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN! This is a .8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks) position that will work on the day shift, with an every 3rd weekend rotation. This position is eligible for a new-hire sign-on bonus of up to $8,000!

The Interventional Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team. The interventional technologist assists with invasive procedures in the Interventional angio suites, collects and assesses image data, and performs scrub role assisting the radiologist.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintaining patient care and participating in creating a culture of patient safety
  2. Communicating with and educating the patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the procedure
  3. Correctly operating equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines while identifying and responding to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly
  4. Applying established standards of aseptic technique during patient preparation, draping, and setup for all procedures
  5. Ensuring patient data integrity, performing examinations, identifying relevant data from images accurately, and communicating pertinent data clearly to the appropriate healthcare professional
  6. During invasive procedures - must be able to achieve and maintain homeostasis manually or with mechanical device of physician's choice when required
  7. Assisting the radiologist with required catheter and wire manipulation while maintaining the required sterile technique
  8. Demonstrating the ability to provide care or service, adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of the population served
Required Qualifications
  1. Vocational/Technical training or Associate Degree in Diagnostic Imaging or related field
  2. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registration
  3. Current BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  1. 1 year experience as an Interventional technologist
  2. ARRT IR certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire
