Fairview is seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join our Interventional Imaging team at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This is a .8 FTE position (64 hours every two weeks), working day shifts with a rotation every third weekend. The position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $6,000 for new hires.

The Interventional Technologist provides high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients and physicians, ensures age-appropriate patient care according to established standards, and collaborates with the healthcare team. The role involves assisting with invasive procedures in the angio suites, collecting and assessing image data, and supporting the radiologist during procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain patient care and participate in fostering a culture of patient safety.
  2. Communicate with and educate patients regarding pertinent information during procedures.
  3. Operate equipment according to standards and guidelines, identify and respond to equipment issues to ensure proper functioning.
  4. Apply aseptic techniques during patient preparation, draping, and setup.
  5. Ensure data integrity, perform examinations, accurately interpret images, and communicate findings clearly to healthcare professionals.
  6. During invasive procedures, assist in achieving and maintaining homeostasis as required.
  7. Assist radiologists with catheter and wire manipulation, maintaining sterile technique.
  8. Provide care or services that reflect the developmental and cultural needs of the patient population.
Required Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical training or an Associate Degree in Diagnostic Imaging or related field.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registration.
  • Current BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience as an Interventional Technologist.
  • ARRT IR certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire.
