Job summary

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO seeks a Radiologic Technologist specializing in interventional imaging to support angio, complex vascular and neuro procedures under radiologist supervision.

The role requires completing a Radiology Technology program and active ARRT certifications; no prior experience is required. Day shift, comprehensive benefits, and state license compliance are included.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Radiology Technology program.
• Must be registered in Radiography and Interventional Radiography.
• State licenses or approvals as required by the work locations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within scope and regulations.
• Observes patient during procedures and monitors protocols.
• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Ensures activities comply with regulatory standards.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Performs specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular and neuro interventional and therapeutic procedures, along with assisting the Radiologist/PA. Must be registered in both Radiography and Interventional Radiography.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.

• Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

• Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.

• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

• Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.

• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• Completion of a Radiology Technology program

EXPERIENCE

• No experience required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Constant standing and walking.

• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).

• Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.

• Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

• Frequent lifting/moving of patients.

• Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.

• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

• Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.

• Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

• Rare kneeling and sitting.
