Job summary

Prostate Centers USA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support our IR Center in Reston, VA. This full-time role operates in an outpatient interventional radiology setting with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

The position requires a high school diploma, valid BLS, and at least 1 year of sterile procedural experience; ARRt certification is preferred. Scrub cases, prepare rooms, and assist during procedures while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid BLS Certification required.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a sterile procedural environment in the last 5 years.
• ARRT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
• Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms.
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images.
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
• Ensures effective communication with physicians.
• Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes.

Qualifications

• Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
• Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulationsWorking knowledge of interventional equipment

Working conditions

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
