We are seeking a skilled Neuro-interventional Technologist to join a team and assist in performing advanced neuro-interventional procedures for patients of varying ages. The ideal candidate will have expertise in interventional radiology and neurovascular procedures and be committed to delivering high-quality care in a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist interventionalists and healthcare professionals in performing complex interventional procedures such as aneurysm coiling, AVM embolization, carotid artery stenting, intracranial thrombectomy, and more.
- Ensure the maintenance of sterile fields, proper equipment setup, and safe contrast media injection during procedures.
- Monitor patients closely during procedures, responding effectively to emergent situations, and providing advanced life support as needed.
- Utilize advanced imaging techniques, including rotational angiography, cone-beam CT, and perfusion imaging, to capture detailed brain and vascular images.
- Operate navigation systems for catheter and device placement with accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Handle interventional devices, including microcatheters, guidewires, stents, and embolic agents, with precision and care.
- Provide real-time monitoring of physiological parameters such as cerebral blood flow and oxygenation during procedures.
- Conduct image analysis and ensure proper documentation of procedure details.
- Ensure the interventional suite and equipment are prepared and properly maintained.
- Implement radiation safety protocols and participate in quality assurance initiatives to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Act as a mentor and provide clinical training to new employees and students.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, risks, and post-procedural care instructions.
- Stay updated with advancements in neuro-interventional techniques and contribute to clinical research and development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) certification or Graduate of a formal radiation technologist program (RT (R) (VI) certification required within two years of hire) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certified.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in operating neuroimaging equipment, such as angiography systems and DSA.
- Strong understanding of neuroanatomy, neurovascular diseases, and related imaging techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documenting and interpreting imaging data.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex procedures to patients and their families.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience as an interventional technologist in a cath lab, interventional radiology, or neurointerventional setting.
- Familiarity with neuroimaging techniques and endovascular procedures, including thrombectomy, embolization, and stenting.
- Experience with advanced imaging software and equipment calibration.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced, high-stakes clinical environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Participation in on-call duties as required.
- Ability to transport patients safely and assist with their needs throughout procedures.
- Maintain unit cleanliness, efficiency, and proper inventory management.
