Position Summary


Performs a variety of technical procedures that require the utilization of specialized angiographic equipment for the delivery of interventional procedures. Under the supervision of the Administrative Manager, Imaging Services and/or Diagnostic Manager, performs technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality IR images for interpretation by the radiologist. All duties are performed according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures, promoting service excellence in all interactions.


Responsibilities

  1. Operates specialized radiographic equipment for technique selection, filming, and processing of radiographic images.
  2. Employs special imaging techniques to enhance diagnostic quality of radiographic images.
  3. Utilizes angiographic catheters and guide wires as required.
  4. Performs patient care prior to procedures, including thorough explanation of procedures.
  5. Schedules patient procedures in accordance with department protocols.
  6. Maintains records and completes appropriate forms post-procedure.
  7. Transfers and positions patients, providing immobilization as needed.
  8. Assists with instruction of staff and residents in special techniques.
  9. Manages procurement, inventory, and storage of supplies.
  10. Plans and implements care for assigned patients, considering developmental stages.
  11. Types all applicable information into the computer system accurately.
  12. Contributes to quality management and control programs for the area.
  13. Supports patient satisfaction metrics and monitors related activities.

Qualifications


Education: AART (R) (CV preferred)


Experience: Minimum of three years diagnostic experience


Licensure: State of CT Licensure


Physical Demands: Regular standing, walking, use of hands, talking, hearing; occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required.


Additional Information


Hours: Full time; Days - 8:00am-4:30pm. License RTR in Connecticut, BLS, 2-year minimum IR experience preferred, on-call responsibilities.
