Job summary

IR Centers in New Castle, DE is seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join our outpatient team. You will prepare patients and procedure rooms, maintain a sterile environment, and assist physicians during minimally invasive procedures.

You will pass instruments, manage supplies, and help with patient transfers and positioning, while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation. Monday–Friday day shift; no call, no weekends, no holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid BLS Certification.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a sterile procedural environment in the last 5 years; must have scrubbed cases.
• ARRT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
• Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms.
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images.
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
• Ensures effective communication with physicians.
• Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes.

You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.

Working conditions

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
