Job summary

IR Centers in Nashville, TN is seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to prep patients and rooms, maintain a sterile environment, and assist physicians during procedures in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include passing instruments, positioning patients, handling IVs and images, and supporting HIPAA compliance, equipment maintenance, and accurate coding. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift. No weekend or holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid BLS Certification.
• At least 1 year of hands-on in a sterile procedural environment.
• ARRT Certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
• Reviews patient orders to determine materials and sets up/cleans rooms.
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images.
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
• Ensures effective communication with physicians.
• Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes.

As an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist, you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Valid BLS Certification
• At least 1 year of hands-on in a sterile procedural environment in the last 5 years. Must have scrubbed cases
• ARRT Certification (Preferred)

Working conditions

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
