Job summary

Prostate Centers USA is seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join a private practice, multidisciplinary setting in New Castle, DE. You will prepare patients and rooms, maintain sterile technique, and assist physicians during radiology procedures. The role requires a high school diploma and BLS, with at least 1 year in a sterile procedural environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Valid BLS Certification required.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a sterile procedural environment; scrubbed cases preferred.
• ARRT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
• Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms.
• Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
• Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
• Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images.
• Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
• May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
• Ensures effective communication with physicians.
• Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes.

As an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Valid BLS Certification
• At least 1 year of hands-on in a sterile procedural environment in the last 5 years. Must have scrubbed cases
• ARRT Certification (Preferred)

Working conditions

Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
