Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Two years of experience as Radiologic Technologist, preferably in Interventional Radiology
• Valid NYS Technician License or ability to obtain prior to start date
• VIR Certification (Vascular Interventional Radiography) preferred

Responsibilities

• Select exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic-quality radiographs.
• Collaborate with the department team to ensure efficient problem resolution and quality outcomes.
• Prepare and instruct patients for examinations, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Assist radiologists during interventional and diagnostic procedures.
• Operate and maintain radiologic equipment; report malfunctions.
• Manage workflow to complete procedures on time and support colleagues between cases.
• Maintain strict patient information security per policy.
• Demonstrate compassion and effective communication with patients of all ages.
• Use HIS, RIS, and PACS accurately and securely.
• Respond professionally to technical inquiries from physicians and staff.
• Participate in quality improvement and departmental performance activities as needed.

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our dynamic imaging team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency, attention to patient care, and teamwork in supporting radiologists during interventional and diagnostic procedures.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Select appropriate exposure factors and positioning to produce radiologic images of consistent diagnostic quality.
• Work collaboratively with the department team to ensure efficient problem resolution and quality outcomes.
• Prepare and instruct patients for examinations, ensuring safety and comfort throughout procedures.
• Assist radiologists during all interventional and diagnostic procedures.
• Operate and maintain all radiologic equipment competently; promptly report equipment malfunctions.
• Manage workflow efficiently - completing procedures on time and assisting colleagues between cases.
• Maintain strict medication and patient information security in accordance with policy.
• Demonstrate sensitivity, respect, and compassionate communication with patients of all age groups.
• Utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS accurately and securely.
• Respond professionally to technical inquiries from physicians and staff.
• Participate in quality improvement and departmental performance activities as needed.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• Two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, preferably in Interventional Radiology.
• Valid NYS Technician License or ability to obtain prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• VIR Certification (Vascular Interventional Radiography) preferred.
