Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiologic Technologist to support procedures under physician supervision and maintain patient safety. Responsibilities include setting up equipment, assisting with catheter insertions, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring proper documentation and imaging Archiving in the PACS system.

The role requires ARRT-R Radiography, BLS, ACLS upon hire, plus 1–2 years in a high-volume radiology environment.

Qualifications

Licenses: ARRT-R Radiography Upon Hire, BLS Upon Hire, ACLS Upon Hire.
Preferred: 1–2 years in a high-volume radiology imaging department or related interventional setting.
Must lift 40–50 lbs and be able to perform in procedural environments.

Responsibilities

Prepare for procedures by setting up equipment and maintaining sterile techniques.
Assist physicians during procedures with catheter insertions and device management.
Monitor patient vitals and communicate changes to the team promptly.
Operate imaging tables and ensure proper labeling of studies.
Review orders for accuracy and screen for allergies or contraindications.
Document procedures in the EHR and ensure images are archived correctly.
Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Maintain radiation safety practices and adhere to ALARA guidelines.
