Job summary

IR Centers is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to support procedures in an outpatient setting. You will prepare patients and rooms, maintain sterile technique, and assist physicians with interventional radiology procedures using C-Arm equipment.

Role requires surgical technologist experience, sterile field maintenance, and HIPAA compliance. Valid BLS and two years scrub tech experience are expected; ARRT/CST preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and valid BLS certification.
  • 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist/scrub tech.
  • ARRT/CST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
  • Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms.
  • Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
  • Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
  • Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images.
  • Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
  • May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
  • Ensures effective communication with physicians.
  • Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes.
