The Interventional Radiology Technologist (IRT) at MUSC performs imaging of vascular structures and supports therapeutic interventions under supervision, ensuring patient care and radiation safety. You will assist physicians during invasive procedures and manage patient conditions critical to successful outcomes.

As a PRN employee with 12 scheduled hours per week, you must maintain licensure and certifications, and be available to work as departmental demands require.

Formación

• Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
• ACLS is preferred.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist (IRT) reports to the Interventional Radiology Supervisor. Under limited supervision, the IRT competently performs technical duties utilizing various types of equipment to image selected vascular structures or therapeutic intervention to assist in diagnosis or treatment. This role provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The technologist applies principles of positioning, radiographic sciences, and ensures radiation protection is exercised with specialized techniques. This position assists and supports the physicians with invasive procedures.

PRN Status Clause

This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

Education

Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology

License/Certification

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
